Neck measurement and Size

Measuring dogs

1. Measure the neck while the dog is sitting or standing.
(Accurate measurements cannot be taken while the dog is lying down.)

2. Use a tape measure to measure the narrowest part of the neck.
(About two fingers behind the base of the ears.)

3. Measure with the tape measure as close to the skin as possible.
(For dogs with a lot of hair, hard hair, or long hair, part the hair and measure with the tape measure close to the skin.)

4. The appropriate size of the collar is determined by adding 2 to 3 cm to the measurement.
(The appropriate size is when you can fit 1 to 2 fingers between the collar and the dog's neck when wearing the collar.)
